WHO WE ARE

The Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg was founded as a part-time venture in 1939 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Harrisburg, initially serving 75 boys. In 1943, under the direction of Robert Clemments, the Club's first professional director, the Club began its full-time operation in a one-room building at its present site on Berryhill Street, serving 200 boys. The same year the Club acquired 3.5 acres of land adjacent to the original building.

Moving to Pennsylvania and joining the Angino Clubhouse, Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg, brought a sense of belonging and community. There, 1 developed confidence through volunteering activities and mentorship from staff like Ms. Khadija and Mrs.
Aaishah. The Club instilled in me a giving heart and the importance of new experiences, culminating in leading the Teen Center Refresh project. The Boys & Girls Club is more than an organization; it's family, profoundly shaping my character and interpersonal skills.

The Boys & Girls Club isn't just a place; it's my second home. It's where I connect with new friends and
genuinely enjoy myself every single day. The atmosphere is so familiar and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly cool - they make every experience better. We go on amazing trips that create unforgettable memories.
Honestly, there's no other summer camp like it. The Club has shaped so many of my experiences, and I aspire to work here when I'm older. It's more
than a club; it's a community that means the world to me.

Talk about a diamond in the rough; besides the baseball field - which is world-(series") class - watch for the brilliance from youth arising from exposure to this gem as they're cut from a sphere to influence neighbors and bring a sparkle to an area in which to mount a revival!
Kudos to the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg helping shape the children, for the best exposure, and who will likely be the future leaders of Harrisburg!
