Ms. Majors was employed by the Commonwealth of PA for over 33 years. She retired from the Department of Public Welfare where she served as the Director of the Bureau of Civil Rights Compliance. Her career spanned over three decades with primary responsibilities in the areas of human resources, minority and women’s business, civil rights and equal opportunity.
Following retirement from the Commonwealth, she served as the Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Acting Director of Human Resources for the City of Harrisburg and the Human Resource Coordinator for a large child care center in Harrisburg.
Devoted to community service, Ms. Majors has been active in the community and schools for over 30 years as a parent volunteer and advocate for children and families. She is a member of the Board of the Harrisburg Public School Foundation and the Harrisburg Fair Housing Council.
Ms. Majors is an alumnae member of The Harrisburg PA Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and the 1st Vice President of the Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She is a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Harrisburg, PA.
Ms. Majors is the mother of four biological adult sons, (Westburn, Garrett, Erich and Bryan), numerous sons and daughters ‘of the heart’ and the grandmother of three young men and a bonus granddaughter.
